The Ben Shemen Youth Village, located in the center of Israel, midway between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, and in close proximity to Ben Gurion airport, is also adjacent to the Ben Shemen Forest, the Israeli cycling “Mecca”.
Formed in 1927, Ben Shemen Youth Village has a profound and impressive heritage. Ben Shemen is renowned for its long tradition of student centered education and its graduates have gone on to become prominent contributors to society both in Israel and abroad. Currently Ben Shemen is home to more than 400 children and youth ages 6-21, and provides accommodation, meals, individualized guidance, social and educational enrichment.
More than an educational institution, the village impacts thousands of lives each year. Renowned for its long tradition of student-centered education, embracing diversity and inspiring through example, the school takes pride in that its graduates become prominent contributors to society both in Israel and abroad. Amongst its graduates, Israel’s former president, prime minister and Nobel Prize winner for peace - Shimon Peres.
Adjacent to the Ben Shemen Forest, Israel’s cycling “Mecca” offers the ideal location for the Gino Bartali Youth Leadership School. The vast open roads, varying terrains and plethora of scenic trails offer a grand opportunity for cycling skill development.
To introduce a varying cycling discipline program and develop the athlete’s handling skills and endurance, Israel’s Olympic Velodrome in Tel-Aviv is a short 20-minute drive. The program will strive to approach each athlete with an individual training plan that incorporates a variety of cycling training, individual and group workouts in the various disciplines lead by a world-class accredited coaching staff.
